I have a 17 month old who usually sleeps well. She has always protested a little when I first put her down but only for a couple of minutes. Lately she has been waking in the middle of the night, usually around 1am, and staying up until 3 or 4am. She usually cries the whole time. She has no fever, she eats well and we give her all natural teething gel on her gum's before bed. I go in and try and sooth her, I tell her to settle down and go to sleep (as recommend by her grandma) I try to say nothing and just be in there fir a few min. With any of these as soon as I start to leave she cries again. I feel like I have tried everything to get her to stop doing this. At first I thought she was having nightmares but now I think that she might be teething. Whatever it is I am not sure what to do. She has never been this bad after learning how to sleep through the night. Please help.

She sleeps in a crib in her own room. She has a bath, we brush her teeth, give her lotion massage and read a story every night for bed time. She takes two one hour naps a day.

I have my 5 month old on a 3 nap per day schedule and bedtime at 7 pm. If he sleeps past 7 am which is our "wake up" time, should I let him sleep or go and gently wake him up?

Let him sleep in your bed! Your son needs you now in time of a major event like illness & teething in his life.

My son is 4 months old we have had the "occasional" good night sleep up until he was about 10 weeks which is brill for a newborn but after 10 weeks each night has got worse and worse. He settles himself off to sleep great but after approx 2hrs of sleep he wakes then every hour after that. Hes not hungry tried him with a bottle countless times,no wind changed etc i try not to pick him up i give him his dummy which sometimes settles him. Im getting up out of bed upto 20 times some nights and im now at complete exhaustion. He has been in a routine since 5 weeks old (started at 5 weeks with my little girl) Please help i dont want a grumpy baby no more, feel really bad for him and i would like some sleep too!!
