My 9 month old daughter goes to sleep on her own at 7pm bedtime with no problem at all and mostly sleeps through unless she can't find her dummy. She will only sleep until 5 - 5.30am no matter what I try. She is happy to wait until 6am for her bottle without any fussing so don't think it is hunger that wakes her. As she is up so early she is still needing 3 naps or bedtime becomes a nightmare. When at home she generally naps 8am - 9am, 12 - 1.30pm and 3.30pm - 4pm. Nursery is different problem as she only sleeps 30-35 minutes. I don't know what else to do to get her to sleep longer. Should she be on 2 naps like everyone keeps telling me?

Hi I could really use some help my daughter is now one and naps have always been an issue. Sleep in general has always been an issue. To this day she still wakes once most nights. We are also getting short naps and have for months. I can sometimes get an hour or so in the morning but the afternoon is always 30 mins. How can I extend her naps? What is a good awake time between naps for her age? I just can't seem to get it right

I babysit for my now 7 month old nephew, I started when he was 5 months old and he does not take naps too good. When I first started watching him he would fall asleep with his bottle and when I would go lay him down he would wake right up. His mother told me he took about 30 min. in morn. and about 2 to 3 hrs. in the afternoon, but that did not happen with me. Then I asked her did he take his naps in crib and she said no, she held him the whole time and then I realized he was used to that, but I refuse to hold him during his naps. Now he is 7 mos. old and he still does not take good naps and if he wakes when you put him down and you try to leave him there he just screams and screams and when he does take a nap for a short time usually when he wakes he wakes screaming and the minute he sees me he screams even louder. Also he does this at home too plus he also sleeps in bed every night with mommy because she cannot get him to stay in him crib and he also gets up several times a night and the only way she gets him back to sleep is by nursing him. So I don't believe there is any way I can fix this and believe me I have tried but unless things change at home and I don't think things will change for him at my home. Also you cannot just lay him down awake and stay there with him because he will just cry and cry and scream and scream louder and he just doesn't stop. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this.
Thank you ,
