Who Am I, And How Can I Help Your Family?

two beautiful children and I live right here in Kelowna, BC. When my first child was about 5 months old, he was waking every 2 hours during the night. It would take me about an hour to get him back to sleep, only to have to repeat the whole thing again a couple of hours later!

Exhausted, I looked everywhere for some real-life, practical solutions to my son’s sleep problems. Friends and family, doctors and nurses... They all offered sympathy and advice, but nobody would actually tell me how to solve the problem!

Finally, I met with Dana Obleman, best-selling creator of “The Sleep Sense Program,” who has helped more than 20,000 families solve the very problems I was having with my son. After just a few nights of following this simple, step-by-step system, my son was falling asleep at 7 p.m., and waking up happy and refreshed at 7:30 a.m.

The reason the methods I teach work so well is that they are customized for YOUR family!

We all know that every child is different, so it only makes sense that what worked for one baby might not necessarily be the best solution for yours. (For example, some children will settle more easily when a parent is in their room with them... and another child might not be able to fall asleep at all until they are left alone.)

That’s why I work closely with you to make sure that the plan we develop for your child fits for your family. That means not only do we take into account your child’s personality, we also come up with a plan that fits your parenting style. This is extremely important, because – as a parent – you simply aren’t going to be committed to a plan that you don’t feel comfortable with. Makes sense, right?

Here's Exactly How I Can Help:

Because I am committed to helping as many parents as possible in the interior of BC, I’ve put together a couple of different packages designed to fit just about every budget:

Option #1 – Private consultation:

We'll meet in your home (or by telephone, if you prefer) and discuss your child's sleep difficulties in detail. Then, we’ll decide together what approach to solving these problems you are most comfortable with, and then come up with a detailed sleep plan that you can start implementing right away.

I provide my private consultation clients with a very high level of pro-active telephone and e-mail support (meaning I'll be calling you daily when you first start putting your plan into place to ensure that everything is going smoothly.) Here's a complete summary of what's included:

1. A preliminary evaluation. This is a comprehensive questionnaire about your child's sleep habits and routines that you'll fill out prior to our meeting. (Having this information in advance helps us make the most of our time together.)
2. A private, 90 minute consultation in your home where we'll discuss strategies, troubleshoot possible problems, and learn how to address bedtime, naptime, nightwakings, or any other specific issues you might be dealing with.
3. A detailed, fully customized sleep plan that I will prepare for you after the conclusion of our meeting.
4. Four follow-up telephone calls during the first week following the consultation. These follow-up calls typically last about 15 minutes, and we'll use this time to deal with any setbacks you might be having or answer any general questions.
5. One week of unlimited e-mail support. After your four follow-up telephone calls have been used, you still have an additional week of unlimited e-mail support. I'll give you my private e-mail address, so that you can send me any lingering questions you might have.

Option #2: Group Seminar

Attending a Sleep Sense™ seminar provides a comfortable environment where a small group of parents get together and learn how to solve their children's sleep problems.

You'll get to share experiences with other parents who are facing some of the same challenges as you... and then develop a personalized sleep plan that will give your child the tools needed to finally start sleeping through the night (and taking long, restful naps during the day.)

Here's a brief outline of what you can expect during the seminar:

All seminar clients will receive one week of personal e-mail support with me. This is a great way to get fast answers to any questions that come up, as my policy is to respond to all e-mails within one business day (and usually much sooner!)

Hi Pam,

I'm blown away - I can't believe this is the same baby! Jad and I are happy to report that we can now do the nap/bedtime routine, tuck Mya into her bed, close the door and walk away. I can put her to bed and go clean the kitchen and make dinner, talk on the phone and she eventually goes to sleep. Don't wait -- hire Pam immediately! It's the best money I have EVER spent! 

Initially, when my wife approached me about hiring a sleep specialist, I dismissed it. I felt that A) we had not exhausted our other options B) I didn't know any better C) it was a lot of money.  However, once we actually called Pam, I was at that point where I was willing to try anything.

Dear Pam, 

After many long years of trying to start our family we were blessed with the arrival of our baby girl Megan. Unfortunately the elation soon turned to despair as she was diagnosed with colic and reflux. This was the start of a downward spiral that we couldn't seem to get out of... She stopped gaining weight and was labelled "failure to thrive".   

At 5 1/2 months she was only 13lb 9oz. Each and every night she would wake, sometimes every hour or two hours at most. This continued into the daytime where she would not nap and if she did it was only for 30-45 minutes each time. She was always overtired and fussy. She was also diagnosed with a cow's milk protein intolerance which complicated things further. At her young age she had already had a family doctor, pediatrician, dermatologist, allergist and nutritionist allocated to her. I don't mind admitting at times we did wonder exactly what we had done. 

Both my husband and I were severely sleep deprived and unable to enjoy this wonderful gift we had been given. The days were exhausting and the night-times were something to dread. A friend had told me about the Sleepsense program and one desperate e-mail to you changed our lives forever. 

With her weight concerns and other issues I was apprehensive about starting the program, but having had our consultation with you my fears soon diminished.
